Quietly, without a great deal of fanfare, this routine has been fooling some of the sharpest magical minds in the world. Performers who have seen it say it is the best coincidence effect they have ever come across. And then they find out it is almost entirely automatic, learnable in a few minutes, performable in almost any situation, and resets instantly in full view of the audience. That is The Coincidenc3, and it is exactly as good as the people who have seen it say it is.

Here is how it works: you and your spectator each have a deck, different backs, both shown freely on all sides and shuffled independently. You both begin dealing cards face up onto the table. At any point the spectator can stop, swap their next card with yours, and deal that card face down. This happens three times, entirely at the spectator's own discretion, with complete freedom throughout.

You then spread both decks face up on the table. Three cards with matching backs are clearly visible in each spread. When those face-down cards are turned over, all three match perfectly across both decks.

It is that clean. It is that fair. It is that powerful.

The reset is instant and can be performed in full view, which means this works just as effectively at the fifth table of a walk-around set as it does at the first. It also plays beautifully with a borrowed deck as long as it has standard faces, giving you the option to perform it entirely impromptu whenever the moment presents itself.
