When this idea first came up, everyone said it was impossible. They were wrong.

Black Swan is a collaboration between magician MJ and Sun Production, the creators of some of the most trusted smoke technology in the magic industry, and it does something genuinely new: it makes smoke behave like a solid object. You can reach into it, grab it, shape it, and make it real. Then you can take that real thing and turn it back into smoke and let it drift away.

The core of Black Swan is a beautifully engineered smoke wand system built around four headline effects, each one a distinct and visual impossibility that opens up a completely different kind of magic moment.

Smoke to Wand is the appearance effect everyone will talk about. Smoke takes the shape of a wand. You reach in and grab it, and it becomes real in your hand. Something made of nothing.

Wand to Smoke runs the moment in reverse: the wand dissolves into smoke and drifts into the air. A real, solid object ceasing to exist in front of their eyes.

Floating Smoke lets you control smoke freely in mid-air, guiding it like a visible spirit or a living thing responding to your will. In the right presentation, this is one of the most genuinely eerie things an audience can witness.

Smoke Wand creates smoke directly from the wand itself, giving you an atmospheric tool for openers, closers, and any moment where a drift of smoke makes the magic feel more theatrical.

The standalone Smoke Device is also fully usable on its own, bringing all of Sun Production’s proven smoke technology into your performances beyond the Black Swan routines themselves.

Magician MJ has developed a complete repertoire around the system, including a wand manipulation routine, an automatic wand holding bonus effect, and his own personal normal wand routine that shows how deeply this prop can be woven into a full act. Many of the effects in his tutorial are not shown in the trailer at all, which means the full scope of what Black Swan can do is even broader than what you will see in the demo.

The engineering reflects Sun Production’s commitment to safety above all else. The coil and fan are fully isolated from the circuitry and sealed against liquid, the coil itself is made from fire-resistant fibre, and the liquid is completely separated from the internal electronics. This is smoke technology that has been trusted by magicians for years, now built into something entirely new.
