Free Magic Isn’t Exposure – The Mask Magic
Peter X on March 25th 2026
What's the difference between exposing magic and offering free magic resources?
Let's get one thing straight before we go any further. When we say free magic, we don't mean a masked figure on YouTube revealing other magicians' trade secrets for ad revenue while hiding behind a disguise to protect himself.
Yes, that person exists and someone already caught him.
The Mask Magic: A Story of Beautiful Irony
Meet "The Mask Magic." Over 2.7 million Instagram followers. Over a million on YouTube. His whole business model was filming short videos that reveal other magicians' marketed tricks. Tricks those magicians spent years developing, perfecting and actually performing for real humans. And he did all of this while wearing a mask to protect his own identity.
Great question. This is where things get genuinely good.
Over here at Magic and Cards our Free Magic page runs on a completely different philosophy. No masks, no exposing anyone and definitely no making money off someone else's lifetime of work. Just genuinely free resources from the magic world's greatest teachers, shared so you can actually learn the craft, practice it and go out and properly blow someone's mind.
We are talking about classics like: Mr. Wizard 2.0 by Peter X & Shay Brunson — our very first release and it is completely free. You are welcome.
The Expert at the Card Table by S.W. Erdnase — basically the holy text of card magic
The Royal Road to Card Magic by Jean Hugard & Frederick Braue — where most great magicians quietly started out
Modern Coin Magic by J.B. Bobo — coins are humble. Coin magic absolutely is not.
Written by magicians who loved the craft enough to teach it properly. Not film it sideways for clicks.

But any working magician will tell you the secret is genuinely the least interesting part of any trick. What actually matters is what happens in the room. The performance, the timing and that moment where someone's jaw drops and they forget they were even looking at their phone.
That is what our free magic downloads are really about. Not just the how but the so what. The difference between knowing a secret and actually being able to do something magical with it.
Just a great big library of free magic waiting for you to download, learn and use to absolutely wreck your friends at the next get together.
And when you are ready to go deeper we have a full shop of magic tricks, playing cards and accessories for when the obsession properly takes hold.
The magic is free. The look on their faces? Priceless.

He once posted publicly complaining that someone was stealing his videos without consent. A man who built an entire channel on exposing other people's secrets was upset that someone was exposing his. You genuinely cannot make this up. The universe has a sense of humor and it is excellent.

A cybersecurity investigator named Mishaal Khan took on the challenge of unmasking him and used open-source intelligence to piece the whole thing together. He cross referenced email addresses, data breaches, OneDrive folders and social media accounts across two continents.
You know what gave him away in the end? A flower pot.

An actual flower pot sitting in the background of his videos matched one in the home of a real Italian magician named Dominic Chimenti from Bari, born in 1973. All that mystery and a houseplant did him in. Glorious!
