Justin Willman’s "One for the Ages" Tour Might Turn You Into a Magic Lover
Peter X on April 3rd 2026
My wife did not walk into this show as an excited magic fan. She walked in as a supportive spouse, the “plus one”… the kind that says, “Sure, I’ll go,” while mentally calculating what dinner you owe her afterward.

By the end of the night, she was laughing harder than I was. And when we got to meet Justin after the show and take pictures with him, she was genuinely thrilled. Like actually excited. Not "I'm being nice to my husband" excited but real excited.
That tells you pretty much everything you need to know about Justin Willman's “One for the Ages” tour.
Here is what I got. A guy on stage telling real stories about his real life where the magic was the punchline. Every single trick had a reason for being there. Every effect was wrapped around something personal and funny and honest. You laughed, then your jaw dropped, then you laughed again because you couldn't believe what just happened.
The tricks themselves are clever and creative but not complicated looking. That is the genius of it. Justin is not trying to make you feel stupid. He is trying to make you feel something. There is a huge difference and this show lives entirely in that difference. It’s clean, family-friendly, and somehow hits adults even harder.
This regular person from the audience was suddenly performing magic on stage without fully understanding how. So, his reactions were completely real. His confusion was real. His delight was real. And watching him realize in real time that he had just amazed a whole theater full of people was one of the sweetest and funniest things I have ever seen at a live show.
The guy was a total sport. Willing and funny and clearly having the time of his life. And the whole room felt it. That moment is exactly what Justin is trying to say with his whole show. Magic is not about fooling people and it is not a "got you." It is about creating a moment of shared amazement that nobody in the room forgets. That spectator felt what it is like to give someone that feeling. And you could see on his face the exact second he understood why people fall in love with this.

His mom Sonja became his very first audience. She would drive him to magic lessons at a local shop but wait outside so she would not learn how anything worked. That way when he got home, he could show her what he had learned and she would be genuinely amazed every single time. She came up with his stage name Justin Kredible and made flyers to advertise his skills. When he was 14, she made him his first business cards. She was his biggest fan from the very beginning.
Justin lost his mom Sonja in 2020. She passed away from Alzheimer's disease. In her memory his family created the Sonja V. Willman Alzheimer's Disease Research Fund through the Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital. All proceeds from his merch sales go directly to fund Alzheimer's research. Justin says his wish for this fund is to find a cure for this disease in his lifetime. If that does not make you want to buy a t-shirt at the merch table I do not know what will. Let that sink in for a second. This is a guy with a Netflix special who has performed for the President at the White House and is selling out theaters across the country. And he still shows up every week and tries something for the very first time. I immediately thought about the deck design I abandoned and felt personally attacked, but also genuinely inspired.
The point is not to be Justin Willman. The point is to stay curious and to keep trying things. To not let the comfortable and the familiar become the only thing you ever do.
So here is the question. What is your something new this week?
What “One for the Ages” reminded me is that the trick is just the beginning. Justin's magic is unforgettable not because the illusions are impossible but because every trick feels like him. His humor, warmth, love for his mom and his genuine joy in making people feel something truly comes through. The trick is the vehicle but the story is the whole point.
Your story will be completely different and that is the whole idea. The trick you learn is just a seed but what you bring to it is what makes it yours. What makes it something people will always remember.
That guy on stage who turned into a magician for five minutes? He was not a professional, he had no training but just showed up and was himself and left that stage with a story he will tell for the rest of his life.

Bring your spouse, friends and/or your kids. My wife is still talking about it and I am choosing to see that as a win. After the show we met him and I, being a magician, asked him to sign my favorite card, the 5 of Hearts. When we were walking out, my wife told me she wanted him to sign her favorite card too. My "plus one" now likes magic a bit more and, guess what, she bought his magic kit!

Justin Willman started because a doctor handed him a deck of cards. His mom believed in him before anyone else did. He turned that into Netflix specials and sold out theaters and a mission to end Alzheimer's disease in his lifetime.

This Is Not Your Typical Magic Show
If you’re expecting a guy doing tricks while people politely clap and say “wow”… yeah, forget that. Here is what I got. A guy on stage telling real stories about his real life where the magic was the punchline. Every single trick had a reason for being there. The Moment That Made Everyone Lose It
My favorite part of the whole night was when Justin brought a guy up from the audience and turned him into a tandem magician. The whole bit was about showing him what it feels like to be a “magic dad”.This regular person from the audience was suddenly performing magic on stage without fully understanding how. So, his reactions were completely real. His confusion was real. His delight was real. And watching him realize in real time that he had just amazed a whole theater full of people was one of the sweetest and funniest things I have ever seen at a live show.

The Origin Story (Yes, It Involves Poor Decisions)
Justin Willman's own origin story is almost too good to be real. When he was 12 years old, he tried to ride a bicycle while wearing roller blades. Impressive commitment but terrible outcome. He broke both arms and after months of recovery his doctor gave him a “Bicycle” deck of cards and told him to start learning magic to rebuild his dexterity.

He Does Something New Every Single Week
Another part of the show that stuck with me is when Justin mentioned that he makes it a point to do something he has never done before every single week. Not because someone is making him but because he believes that is how you stay sharp and curious and genuinely alive in what you do.Let that sink in for a second. This is a guy with a Netflix special who has performed for the President at the White House and is selling out theaters across the country. And he still shows up every week and tries something for the very first time. I immediately thought about the deck design I abandoned and felt personally attacked, but also genuinely inspired.

So here is the question. What is your something new this week?
What Justin's Story Taught Me About Magic
Learning a magic trick is genuinely not that hard. The magic community does not always like to admit this but it is true and it is great news. You can learn a solid card trick this weekend and a coin vanish by Tuesday.
